Turn Salt Water Into Drinkable Water The Easy Way

The best way to accomplish getting drinkable water out of salt water is through the process of water distillation.

Here is what you'll need

A heat source to boil the water.
A way to support the water pot and contain the heat source
A covered water pot to boil the water in with a hole on top to let steam out (a pressure cooker works good for this)
A coil of copper or stainless tubing – to cool the steam and turn it bark to water
a 5 gallon plastic pail
a short piece of plastic tubing to connect the boil pot to the metal condenser tube
And of course something to catch and contain your clean drinkable water in

Water distillation leaves you with water that is free of salt, bacteria, viruses, etc.

Now point of caution…chemicals with a boiling point less than or equal to water can end up in your collected water.

A trick to avoid this is boil water for ~10 minutes uncovered..this cooks off the volatile chems.
