The Viking Game, or Hnefatafl, on King's Table is a ancient game.

It originated over 2000 years ago, and was a precursor to Chess.

Back it ancient times lords had to teach their kids the strategies of war fare or risk the loss of their lands. This was often done with games.

The Viking Game was one of those games. It's a game that can be played aggressively offensive or defensive. Many strategies can be learned.

For those of us playing this game today, it is just plane fun.
